Alexander's Tree Farm will not be opening for choose-and-cut this year. Our fields aren't going quiet, though. This season our trees are going wholesale to our friends at Hanggi's Tree Farm in Naples, a family farm a lot like ours.
Before we turn the page, we wanted to say thank you. Some of you came every year. Some of you came as kids, then brought your own kids, and then your grandkids. You tramped the rows in snow and in mud, argued good-naturedly over which tree was the right one, rode the wagon, picked out a wreath, and found an ornament or two in the shop. We didn't take any of it for granted.
Your visits are a big part of what made this place special to our family, and to the two people who started it all.
This farm was a large part of Mom and Dad's lives. Dad loved the idea of growing Christmas trees, and in 1969 he began planting on land he and Mom had bought from her father. Mom cleared the ground for the first planting in 1970 and spent the years that followed caring for the trees and the grounds.
Together they built something by hand. Mom kept the books, did the purchasing, ran the store, and made the wreaths. Dad tended the fields. They were married 59 years, and many of their happiest seasons were spent right here, sharing Christmas with you.
We lost Mom in 2024 and Dad in December 2025. We know they would want us to thank you, too.
